Recently discovered this Duke Ellington song in a jukebox that my boyfriend’s aunt and uncle bought a little while ago. It was my turn to pick a song, so I tested out The Mooche by Duke and it is now my favorite of his.

I took an American Sign Language class a couple years ago for two years. I tried sending this performance off to my teacher in hopes she’d like it just as much and I’m sure she would. I discovered this from my Modern Arts class when an intern guest lectured for us. She included this artist in her hopefully soon to be exhibition called What Can A Body Do? The intern’s name is Amanda Cachia and her senior thesis is also under that title. Her thesis and exhibitions are about artists that are disabled and how they portray their experiences as a disabled person through their own art. This performance is by Christina Sun Kim, a Korean, deaf artist. Her performances also bring about seismic drawings from the physicality of the sound.
